You’ve packed everything for your Christmas holidays, but did you remember something else important? You surely packed your holiday underwear, but what about your sex toys? Boring holidays are over, baby! As our winter holiday is coming and everyone is planning their Christmas, I think it’s very important to discuss which travel checklist suits you best if you’re intending to take your favorite devices with yourselves. Here are 5 essential tips for you with regards to packing your sex toys effectively for your next holiday!
Buy a travel-sized toy
Travel-sized toys are cheaper and lighter than full size versions of the same product, making them ideal for packing into your carry on bag. They also tend to be less likely to be confiscated by the TSA (and if they are, there’s no harm done). You can still get all the benefits of using a full size vibrator without having to worry about it being in your suitcase and taking up valuable space inside your luggage. While we love our large variety of dildos, investing in a smaller version may be more practical when considering traveling with sex toys (you can find many on amazon as well!). If you have any doubts about whether or not your particular toy will make it through security check points just contact the airline customer service!
Don’t be cheap with the batteries
You surely don’t want your toy to die before you even leave for the airport. Toys require batteries and if your toy doesn’t have any, or if it does but they are low or dead, then you will be unable to use your vibrator.
If you can charge up your toy beforehand that would be ideal but not necessary. I recommend bringing one or two sets of extra batteries just in case something happens with the initial set of charged ones while traveling, this way you won’t be stuck without any way to get off!
You should also know what type of batteries are needed for your device(s), as well as their size (AA/AAA/etc). Although most travel-sized toys don’t need anything over an AA battery size which means finding replacements shouldn’t be too hard!
Bring a lube that won’t leak
You need lube. There’s no way around it. And I don’t mean that in the sense of “oh, it would be nice if there were some lube nearby for me to use later on when I have time to masturbate…but oh well!” No, you actually need lube because without it, your solo play session would suck and your partnered play session would just be awkward.
So what kind? There are lots of options out there but here are some general guidelines:
- If you’re going to use a vibrator on yourself during solo travel, pick up a silicone-based lubricant—it won’t dry out as quickly as water-based ones do and can be used with all types of toys (metal or plastic). Silicone lubricants also tend not to stain sheets like oil-based products may do over time (though if this is something that concerns you then we recommend bringing two kinds). Keep in mind though that silicone might not work well with some porous materials like jelly dildos—so test beforehand if possible!
- If traveling with condoms or latex gloves/dental dams during partnered travel then opt instead for a water-based personal lubricant; these tend also not stain sheets when used around condoms/dental dams which makes them ideal accessories when packing light so long as they’re stored inside their own container away from other items within your luggage.
Pack it in your carry on
The first step is to see what airline you are flying with and if they allow sex toys on board. Some airlines don’t allow any type of battery operated sex toy at all, while others will let you carry them as long as they aren’t vibrating or designed for anal play. If the airline does not allow sex toys in your luggage, there are other options available such as packing it into your checked bag or purchasing one when you get there.
If you decide that it’s okay to transport your favorite toy in your carry-on luggage, then here’s how:
- Place the box containing your toy inside another box with padding around it (padded envelopes work well). This helps protect against breakage during transit and also prevents anyone from wondering what’s inside by looking through an X-ray machine at baggage claim!
Get a water-proof toy
Water-proof toys are great for the bathtub, shower, pool, and beach. Not only do these toys keep up with your sex drive no matter where you travel (and even around town), but they also make it easy to get things started when you’re away from home. You can bring them along on your trip or leave them at home waiting for you when you get back! Either way there’s no excuse not to have fun with yourself while traveling!
Anyways we’re here for you as well. We know that traveling can be stressful, but we also want to make sure that your sex life doesn’t suffer because of it.
So get packing and get ready to have the best vacation ever!
